Description: Reproduction of early-type covers for PU scopes used on SVT-40 sniper rifles. Very rare these days. Could also be used with the Mosin-Nagant 91/30 sniper rifles. The covers are used to protect the scope from dust and water when not in use. To protect the scope even more, lens caps should be put on. The covers can be used both ways, i.e. with or without the caps. The covers were designed in such a way that soldiers did not have to take the cover off in order to start shooting. High quality reproduction made of a water-repellent canvas fabric and genuine leather. The front left side of the cover has a stitched-on pocket, which is used for lens dusters. The cover is closed with a leather strap and metal buckle. These are early types of the PU sniper scope covers. The design is based on the PE sniper scope covers which also had a side pocket and leather circles on both sides. With the beginning of the Eastern Campaign (WW2), the PU sniper scope design was simplified, i.e. the external pocket and leather sides had been removed. Please check the screen shots from the Soviet newsreel showing the Soviet soldiers with similar covers on their sniper rifles (see pics 11, 12). This offer is for one cover.
