Description: This is a 1920 Bolshevik Propaganda poster designed by Viktor Déni. This was a time of war and immense uncertainty within Russia with the Bolsheviks battling the White Russians who had support from western countries. A good translation is: “Lenin sweeping away monarchs, clergy and capitalists”. The dimensions of 50 x 70 cm are significant because that was an original size. Modern art prints come in many different sizes not including this size. and on heavy poster paper. The paper is thin, fragile and shows the effects of age but not significantly so. Toning is minimal and there are no markings, just small marginal tears at bottom both sides and push pin holes, only two, at the corners.
