Possibly the best young adult novel of the 20th century, Sounder has been a classic and a must-read for middle grade students since its publication in 1969. It has been perpetually in print since initial publication, so copies of the book are very easy to find. Here, however, is a first printing of the first paperback edition - a classic collectible. This copy of the book is in good condition, with some flaws. The exterior shows moderate wear, most notably small tears at the top and bottom of the front of the spine. The inside front cover has some writing - two names - but the interior is otherwise clean and unmarked, with occasional exceptions of minor staining and signs of use. I would consider this a good reader copy. All books are individually evaluated and photos are of the actual book.
