And it is Made in Japan.We have confirmed the sound output, Play, Repeat, REW, FF and radio tuner with both Gum cell battery and aa battery. It works fine.　Original drive belt has been replaced with a brand new. Belt contact surface cleaned and lightly polished. And Head cleaned and demagnetized with cleanig tape several times.Note:This cassette player works with gumstick batteries or AA batteries. When using AA batteries, an external battery case is required. This WM-FX833 comes with an external battery box for AA.
