Description: This is a set of two small polished complete fossilized agatized ammonite specimens which were collected from Madagascar, Africa. This specimen set's largest ammonite measures 1.35 inches long by 1.71 inches wide. These ammonite specimens are in great condition. Ammonites are an extinct species of marine invertebrate animals of the cephalopod group of mollusks which died out at the end of the Upper Cretaceous period (65 million years ago). These complete Ammonites have been left whole and have been polished on the outside to show the beautiful details of the suture lines. Madagascar is a famous location for mining these amazingly preserved ammonite fossils from both the Jurassic and the Cretaceous periods. This ammonite set would be a great addition to any rock and mineral collection.
