It includes sewing techniques for garment construction, the use of attachments, and instructions for free hand ornamental stitches. Organized into 6 sewing lessons, each lesson is followed by a numbered series of practice lessons. I do not believe this book was sold separately to the public. The Singer Sewing Skills Reference Book is one of the few publications to feature the highly desired Singer Walking Presser Foot, “The Penguin”, on page 52. This lovely, vintage paperback incorporates two color printing and numerous, charming illustrations in grayscale with shades of pink. The Singer Sewing Skills Reference Book focuses on low shank Singer sewing machine models and attachments. It would be a great complement to the 1960 Singer Teacher’s Textbook of Machine Sewing which prominently features slant needle machines. There are two holes from a staple at the top of page 7-8. There is no highlighting, handwriting, or other intentional marks on the cover or interior pages. The pages are clean and bright. The colored cover and illustrations are still vibrant. There are no missing pages.
