This is an early umbrella ~ Wonderful silver plated end, Ive never seen another like it. ~ Every summer, the shepherd guides his flock into the mountain pastures and he was equipped with his dog and his umbrella. A FABULOUS decorative textile ~ Imagine this hanging from a ceiling!!! A conversation piece for sure. Covered with cotton which is dyed using indigo , ~ ~I actually used one of these for my wedding photographs :)) This umbrella uses metal spokes and the handle is made of wood.
