Description: This is a handwritten letter from Royal W. Turner to Onslow Stearns. Royal W. Turner (1823-1891) was the president of the Randolph National Bank, which operated from 1875 to 2013. Onslow Stearns (1810-1878) was born in Billerica, Massachusetts. Stearns was elected to the New Hampshire State Senate in 1862. He served as from 1869 to 1871 as Governor of New Hampshire. Stearns was also an executive of many railroad companies, such as the Old Colony & Newport Railroad, the Northern Railroad, and the Dorchester and Milton Branch Railroad, among others. He also served as President of the Old Colony Steamboat Co. This letter, dated 1872, is 8" by 5". It is signed by Royal W. Turner. It is written on a piece of stationery of the Randolph National Bank. There is a notation in pencil on the back, probably written by Onslow Stearns.
