Description: SIGNED Children of Hawaii by Mallie Phegley 1939 the story of Kaholakai, Kealii, and Lana, fictional children in ancient Hawaii, written in the true spirit and atmosphere of Hawaiian culture. Book features illustrations and is targeted towards a young audience, reflecting the culture and life in Hawaii during that period. Book is inscribed and signed by the author, plus a note from the author and signed by her is taped inside the front cover. The author was a teacher in Hawaii in the early 1900's and wrote this book to Book is in Acceptable condition with wear, bumped corners age toning, speckles on the text block, a chip on the rear cover , and the gutter is torn at the title page (see pictures). Cover and pages are square and unmarked except for the author's inscription and signature and another person's inscription and the taped note from the author inside the front cover. No dust jacket. Binding is sound other than torn gutter. Please see pictures as they are considered part of the condition description.
