SHADOWLINE Peignoir, Robe, Nightgown, NOS W/ Tags, Sheer Chiffon NOS Vtg 70s

Description: Shadowline peignoir set that is NOS with Tags, mint condition from the May, 1976 Shadowline collection of lingerie sets. This set includes a knee length night gown and robe in a seductive mint green with a sheer chiffon nylon robe and a double nylon night gown with plenty of mint green lace and satin mint accent ribbons. These are unworn. This was worn for the photo shoot only, and comes to you in MINT condition. These were sales samples and were show to customers to see quality and workmanship before they purchased. The salesman would have brought these pieces to show the quality and style for customers like big box stores to purchase for sale in their stores. This peignoir set is from May 10, 1976 collection. The nightgown was style 3766 and came in White, Blue and Mint. This is the Mint, which is a light green, almost like lime sherbet! The retail price of this was $13 for just the night gown. The peignoir robe is style 8766- and retailed for $28 in 1976. This set would have retailed for $41 for the two piece peignoir set (over 45 years ago!). This night gown has a sleeveless design with sheer double chiffon yoke area with over 3" of mint green scalloped lace and satin bow trim detail. The neckline is a scoop style. The night gown has a thicker nylon under layer and a sheer chiffon mint green outer layer. There is 2 1/2" of lace trim detail on the hemline on the sheer chiffon layer. This is slightly gathered under the bust area. The peignoir robe is 2 layers of sheer double chiffon nylon. The sleeves are two full layers of chiffon nylon and are full and see-thru. There is 2 1/2" of lace trim detail at the hem of the sleeves. The yoke and bodice area has a wide over 5" of mint green lace and satin ribbon detail. There are 4 snaps at the front bodice area to keep this robe closed if desired. This is slightly gathered at both the front and back under the yoke. This gown is sheer and see-thru. This peignoir set is knee length. The tags on this say small - but this will easily fit a medium as this is a full and generous cut. See below for measurements. This has an easy fit A line style that is comfortable yet extremely flattering. The most important measurements would be the bust area and the armholes, as the waist and hips are a fuller cut. Please see below to see if this will fit you. I believe a modern size 4 to 10 should fit this style today. This has the vintage Black and White Pendant style Shadowline tags Black and White Shadowline tags (pendant style logo) Shows S for small (but may fit other sizes as is fuller cut) All Nylon This can be machine washed and dried. This is MINT condition and has never been worn. If this were my vintage piece I would hand wash and hand this to dry - but does say this is machine washable. Measurements on Peignoir Robe: shoulder to shoulder is 14 1/2 inches sleeves are 19 inches on inside and 24 1/2 inches on outside armhole is 19 inches bust is 36 1/2 inches waist to 48 inches hips to 58 inches length is 38 1/2 inches Measurements on Peignoir Night Gown Sleeveless bust is 36 1/2 inches waist is 42 inches with out layer 48 inches hips are 46 inches on thicker nylon layer and 56 inches on chiffon layer length is 37 1/2 inches. This is one of the most lovely, feminine and gorgeous peignoir sets I have seen! This peignoir set is very feminine yet very comfortable. The weight of this fabric is not the cheap fabric used today - this piece has body and substance - yet is so stunning. CONDITION: This piece is unworn and comes to you in MINT, unworn condition. I have bought this and many other pieces that were sales samples that are in unworn MINT condition. Please save me to your favorites if you like this and want to see other Shadowline NOS pieces.
