Description: Please read & note: This is a Rights holding DVD created & produced by me and is not factory made or sealed. All pictures are actual screen captures from the DVDs. I strive to produce the best DVD's possible from the sometimes VERY old Public Domain material. Films that are public domain are unpreserved and not professionally re-mastered. I re-master all of my films myself to the best possible quality achievable. My DVDs are not the quality of todays Modern DVDs or Bluray discs. If you are looking for this kind of quality then these discs are not for you. Please note this when purchasing, but also know that all of the films are very watchable. To keep my prices as low as possible all my DVDs are delivered in plain paper DVD sleeves and the DVDs title will be labeled on the back of the DVD envelope. This way you can write the contents of the DVD on the DVD yourself if you want to. (See picture). All of my DVD's come with a menu for easy film selection. Total runtime of the DVD is 138 minutes. Item specifics are: Film 1: "Molly Grows Up" (1953) B&W Runtime 14 minutes Molly anxiously awaits her first sign of menstruation, which means that she'll be able to date and go dancing. The school nurses explains exactly what menstruation is to her, by using diagrams and drawings. Film 2: "As Boys Grow" (1957) B&W Runtime 16 minutes This film was way ahead of its time. It deals with sex in a very open and honest way without shying away from the more sensitive topics. While the acting isn't brilliant (but I think that adds to its charm) this is an interesting and, at times, quite amusing film. Film 3: "Physical Aspects of Puberty" (1953) B&W Runtime 17 minutes Let's follow Janey and Jimmy as they go through puberty. We follow them using standard animation explaining this, with some strange font choices thrown in. The film in my opinion doesn't really get interesting until talking about the emotional problems the kids go through, which make them all crabby and over-emotional. Film 4: "Human Reproduction" (1947) B&W Runtime 21 minutes A peculiar movie made apparently for adults who have absolutely no idea where babies come from. The movie starts by a young tyke asking his father where babies come from. The Dad soon starts, um, I don't know, going into a trance I guess, and then narrator starts talking about the female reproduction system. Quite an informative and educational film. Film 5: "In the Beginning" (1937) B&W Runtime 16 minutes Another one of these films that look far too innocent in the beginning, but then turn on you and gets graphic. The initial stages of this shows plenty of mammals and their young, like deer.. and rabbits.. Wait a minute! Did we see say Rabbit? Ever wonder how a rabbit is born? Why, we'll show you! Then it cuts into (literally) a rabbit being dissected and we see it's ovaries. Geez. After that, a pretty detailed course on how a rabbit egg is fertilized and grows. At the very end, I am not making this up, we cut into another rabbit, to see the rabbits ovaries with rabbit young still inside! then they do a CAESARIAN and take one of the young out for our examination. Film 6: "How Much Affection?" (1958) B&W Runtime 19 minutes Rather interestingly told short about Laurie and Jeff, two people who get hot and heavy one night and Laurie is SO ashamed of it. A great show at the beginning has Laurie fleeing Jeff's car. Quite effective. After Laurie has a heart to heart talk with her Mom, she takes it very slow with Jeff for the time being. You can just sense the discomfort the two have for each other now, and one wonders where there relationship will wind up. Not exactly a bed of roses here. Recommended! Film 7: "Toward Emotional Maturity" (1954) B&W Runtime 10 minutes Towards Emotional Maturity tells of the psychological maturing of Sally, a senior in high school. A narrator teaches us how Betty got to be this way, it's a combination of several things. Her Psychology playing that hilarious game, "What’s In The Box?" It’s a snake! Yikes! Sally gets so scared she trips over a desk. The teacher remarkably doesn’t really do anything except put the desk back calmly. Such a thing wouldn't dare to be tried today. There’s another box, who wants to see what's in there? Film 8: "Social-Sex Attitudes in Adolescence" (1953) B&W Runtime 22 minutes Surprisingly good, except for a for questionable spots, about a girls and boys attitudes of, well, boys and girls and what it means to have a relationship. Here we follow Bob and Mary. We watch them grow up. Mary has a nice Mom and Dad and Bob has a widowed Mom. We follow each other's upbringing and how important Mom and Dad were for advice in bringing their kids up properly. I claim ownership and rights to this media.
