Description: These sterling silver corn on the cob holders are always popular. Somewhat scarce and hard to find. This is a matched set of 16 holders (or, service for 8). The pointy end looks like a trident. The handles are cone-shaped, with 7 horizontal lines around the body. The handles hollow and not weighted. All are marked "Sterling ~ 925 ~ Taxco". Four of the spears are hallmarked "BM", with the remainder marked "PC". I was not successful in identifying these makers. Silver weight: 74 grams. Dimensions: 3-3/8" Long. Handle is 1.75" long. Spread of spear is 7/8" wide. Condition: Good giftable condition. Only noticeable issue: these spears have been used, and the trident / prong portion on many shows small bends. While that could be the way they were manufactured, I believe it was small distortion when prongs were inserted or removed during use. On 7 holders, I saw a single extremely shallow ping or dent - really have to be scrutinizing these to find those issues. The last 5 photos are examples of what I see as prong distortions, pings or dents. No monograms, inscriptions, or engravings. Surface patina has light surface scratches commiserate with age and use.
