The artist Pepe Herrera, born in Cuba in 1958 and resident in Spain for two decades, painter, draftsman and serigrapher, Pepe Herrera has participated in more than sixty collective and individual exhibitions in Cuba, Spain, Italy, Mexico, Great Britain, United States -New York-, Puerto Rico, Bolivia or France, among other countries. Pepe was founder of the René Portocarrero Workshop in Havana, and in 1988, in one of those unexpected events that occur in the Cuban art world at the time and at the initiative of his friend Aldo Menéndez, he was sent to Barcelona to set up a silkscreen printing workshop. Pepe worked on this project for a whole year, in which he not only took charge of setting up the workshop, but also taught silkscreen printing courses. El artista Pepe Herrera, nacido en Cuba en 1958 y residente en España desde hace dos décadas, pintor, dibujante y serígrafo, Pepe Herrera ha participado en más de sesenta exposiciones colectivas e individuales en Cuba, España, Italia, México, Gran Bretaña, Estados Unidos -Nueva York-, Puerto Rico, Bolivia o Francia, entre otros países. Pepe fue fundador del Taller René Portocarrero en La Habana, y en 1988, en uno de esos sucesos inesperados que ocurren en el mundo del arte cubano de la época y por iniciativa de su amigo Aldo Menéndez, fue enviado a Barcelona para montar un taller de serigrafía. Pepe trabajó en este proyecto durante todo un año, en el que no sólo se encargó de montar el taller, sino que también impartió cursos de serigrafía. La obra de Herrera se ha convertido hoy en día en un referente en el mundo del dibujo y la serigrafía.
