Description: This is an original Playbill from the Broadway musical Jamaica. It starred the fabulous Lena Horne, Ricardo Montalban and a chorus member by the name of Alvin Ailey! It Opened on October 31, 1957 and ran until April 11, 1959 for 555 performances. It received 7 Tony nominations, including Best Musical, Best Actor/Musical, Best Actress/Musical, Best Featured Actor, Best Featured Actress, Best Scenic Design and Best Costume. As with all these vintage publications, there are interesting ads featuring restaurants and products that are no longer in existence. This is a real trip down memory lane.
