HeatherGems Company have been producing hand-crafted jewellery in Perthshire, Scotland, since the 1950s. The "Gems" are actually made from Real Heather and most of the process is done by hand. HeatherGems Jewellery are painstakingly handmade from Real Scottish Heather and made also in Scotland . HeatherGems are unique and no two pieces are ever exactly the same. The Heather is collected, cut and cleaned. Next it is dyed and compressed into a block, sliced, machine-turned and shaped. It is then lacquered and placed into the jewellery setting. Because of this process, each piece is unique. The Heather in this Brooch is in shades of mustard, earthy green, tan, purple and dark brown and is beautifully set in a very nice Celtic Design Pewter Oval Decorative Frame.
