Description: F. Schuyler MathewsA Spring SongBoston: L. Prang & Co., n.d. [circa 1890s] 12 pages, oblong 5.75" x 4.75" A tiny, stunningly beautiful book of artwork and poetry by the naturalist, artist, and composer F. Schuyler Mathews. He is known primarily for Field Book of Wild Birds and Their Music and for translating of birdsong into musical notes. Undated, but circa 1890s based on the typography, and dates of other Prang publications of Mathews' work. Apparently quite scarce - I find no copies for sale elsewhere and no record in Worldcat.
