Description: Offered is an original World War One production Imperial German military bayonet made for the Mauser infantry rifles. This scarce bayonet is an “Erstatz” or substitute bayonet. It is correctly Fraktur letter proofed on the blade spine. The blade has a blued Ricardo and otherwise remains correctly in the white with some scattered gray and brown patina. The steel handle has expected and nice patina, as well. The lock button functions as it should. It is offered with its correct original scabbard that retains a good bit of its original green paint. The scabbard is dent free and the ball retains its shape. Overall a very nice, difficult to find, World War 1 German Ersatz bayonet that would make a nice advanced addition to a collection.
