Modernist David Spada Anodized Black Aluminum and Crystal's CROSS Necklace, David Weaved Black Rubber together to make what the Cross hangs from and then wrapped the rubber to hold the Cross together. David then added six Crystals to each end of the Cross. David did NOT make a lot of these, so it is indeed a very Special Rare piece!! Overall excellent condition, measures Approx. 38" Long x 7" at its widest point. This is from my personal collection. I was friends with David for years until he passed away and worked for David when he had his store ( Casa De Spada ) on Avenue B in the East Village between 12th and 13th streets in the early 1980's. I have a vast Archive of his pieces made in Aluminum and Rubber from the early 1980's to the 1990's. I purchased these pieces from David for my collection. We made a lot of Jewelry for Grace Jones and Madonna and collaborated with Kieth Haring. All guaranteed originals! The Necklace is an unsigned piece, not everything was stamped ( SPADA ). These are RARE pieces in Museums now and very collectable!!! Last four pictures are David's pieces in the Philadelphia Museum of Art!!!.
