Description: I am Japanese seller. Product A 4-disc set of all of François's recordings of Debussy, one of his masterpieces, recorded in sessions for the old EMI. Disc 1 is the first time all but two songs have been released on SACD! Newly reissued from analog master tapes in France. Includes new commentary. To commemorate the 100th anniversary (2024) of the birth of Samson François (1924.5.18-1970.10.22), who is still highly popular as one of France's leading pianists, we have compiled the Debussy recordings left by the old EMI into a 4-disc set. François often performed these works, including not only Debussy but also Ravel, in concerts, and all of the recordings he left behind as one of the best interpreters today are highly regarded. After a solo album recorded in July 1961 (DISC 1, also used in the jacket design of this box), EMI started a new project in February 1968 with the aim of recording all of Debussy's works, but it was halted due to François' sudden death (recordings were made until two days before his death). This time, these gems of recordings, which could be called a legacy, have been newly released on SACD. DISC 1 contains the sound sources except for "L'Isle Joyeuse" and "Slower than Lento" that are being released on SACD for the first time (the rest, including DISC 204, have already been released on SACD). For this release, the master was digitized at 192kHz/24bit from the original analog master tape in the country, and the SACD and CD layers were mastered separately. Includes new commentary. A permanent preservation edition. These recordings are not only important recordings by François, a pianist who is unparalleled in the history of performance, but also stand out from other recordings with his unique nuanced performance and interpretation, and can be said to be a heritage of all kinds of music. Why is there so much attraction to past recordings, performances from more than half a century ago, when there are many performances that are faithful to the score and are smooth and uniform? This new high-quality reissue will make you feel that even more strongly. In particular, you will be able to confirm François' strong will for Debussy more than ever before. High-quality sound sources are not only excellent at reproducing the layered sounds of orchestras and operas, but also allow you to feel the complex nuances and the diverse expressive possibilities of a single instrument such as the piano. In that sense, it is rare to find a performer who can hear the diversity of François. For the SACD, we did not use past sound sources, but instead used the original analog master tapes from France as the new master, aiming to reproduce Francois' musicality that is characteristic of the sound sources more than ever before. Please enjoy the highest sound quality, including the 1961 recording, which is the first SACD. In this series, the SACD layer aims for high resolution and a rich sound field with extended high frequencies and soft nuances, while the CD layer aims for a realistic tone that is pushed out with a solid, cohesive sound. The CD itself has great potential, so you can enjoy it as a SACD hybrid disc that allows you to enjoy the best of both worlds. In addition, new text by Hiro Aiba has been added to the commentary booklet. The jacket photo this time uses the design of the album recorded in 1961. ・Number of pieces | 4・Track list | [Tracklist]Claude Debussy: Piano Works[DISC1]1. Isle de Joyeuse2.
