Description: The Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George, historically known as the Imperial Constantinian Order of Saint George and the Order of the Constantinian Angelic Knights of Saint George, is a dynastic order of knighthood of the House of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, founded in 1545. This Roman Catholic order of chivalry is said to have been fictively established by Constantine the Great. However, it was actually founded sometime between 1520 and 1545 by two brothers from the Angeli Comneni family, a noble lineage of Greek descent. Members of this family served as Grand Masters throughout the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. The Cross of the Constantinian Order of Saint George is a deep crimson Greek Cross Flory, featuring the XP monogram in gold at its center. The ends of each arm of the Cross bear the letters I, H, S, and V, representing the motto "In Hoc Signo Vinces." The legendary founder of the Constantinian Order of Saint George is the twelfth-century Eastern Roman (Byzantine) Emperor Isaac II Angelus Comnenus. In the fifteenth century, a noble family of Balkan exiles, claiming descent from Isaac’s dynasty, fought alongside Skanderbeg’s forces in Albania.
