Description: This is some kind of vintage/antique jack, at least that's what it was in it's past life. Today it is a nifty lamp hanger for a rustic decor room, and it is "adjustable" about 2 feet up and down the steel strap. As you crank the lever up and down, the paws grab different slots in the steel strap. A bolt mounts into bottom of strap to prevent paws/lever from falling off the bottom. The housing that holds the paws has a removable buckle for attaching a chain for hanging a chain lamp (see last photo above). I have made/included a wood bracket for mounting to ceiling/beam, the of steel strap merely hangs into the wood bracket hooks- - -easy deal.
