Records describe the text as "Hand-Illuminated Lithographs," though as near as we can tell, this amounts to occasional gilt flourishes to the Half-Title/Frontispiece/Title and Introduction Plates. Contains the bookplate of famous Buffalo, NY sportswriter William Horace Lerch. Condition: In Very Good++ condition, with a strong spine showing no cracking or splitting, strong hinges showing no separation or starting, no loose or missing pages, foxing or mold. Outer covers show general rubbing and edge-wear; light bumping to the corners with very slight exposure on the top right corner of the front board; light rubbing/reading-wear to the outer cloth, with darker discoloration to the spine (see Image 14); light wear to the cloth at the foot and crown of spine, but no loss or tearing; former owner's book-plate on the front pastedown (see Image 2).
