This kit restores the rubber barrel ends that typically wear first. The rock tumbler barrel takes a lot of abuse during repeated tumbling operations, while the drum side wall is thick and sturdy, unfortunately the bottom and top sealing cover are only about an 1/8 of an inch thick. With the action of the abrasive grit and the wear from the lid tightening screw, severe damage is done to the barrel. Eventually the bottom or top cover will wear through and cause fluid to leak out, effectively ending the life of the barrel. New barrels run as high as $25.00, this kit will restore the life of the barrel for a fraction of the cost of a new barrel. This kit contains a patch that is not made from the same soft, weak and rapidly deteriorating rubber of OEM, rather it is made from the same material that manufactures make shoe soles from.
