Description: This watercolor painting was done by Navajo artist Robert Draper (1938-2000). It shows a landscape of the Hopi pueblo with fields and mesas in the distance. If you look closely you can see one of the Hopi pueblos at the center right. There are Hopi fields below and a dramatic horizon of endless mesas and deep blue sky beyond. The painting has been nicely matted, framed and covered with glass. The frame measures 13" x 18.5". The image size inside the mat is 6 1/4" x 12 1/4". It is signed in the lower left. This painting is in great vintage condition.Robert Draper was born in 1938 on the Navajo (Diné) Reservation. He attended the Chinle, Arizona Boarding School and the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe. Today he is an art instructor and a full-time artist.
