Description: Up for auction here is an AUTOGRAPHED Rob Van Dam action figure, from 1999. When ECW got a deal on TNN television (The Nashville Network, for you kids out there), wrestling fans like me thought it was the saving grace of the hardcore territory. Unfortunately, it was not to be. However, that deal did lead to the first ECW action figures being put out. This is one that I had to have. RVD simply did things in the ring that no one had seen before. He was also a stoner, and probably a metal-head, so I could relate. This very nice figure came with the ECW championship belt and the 2x4 that you see here. He also came with a baseball bat, but that is not included. Rob Van Dam also has a "Left Forearm Smash" gimmick, that can be activated by working the red lever on his back. RVD SMASH! As you can also see in the picture, he is autographed. I got this autograph when I was a senior in high school, in either late 1999 or early 2000. That year, ECW visited the Erie Civic Center in Erie, PA. The show was exactly what idiot teenagers wanted it to be. Afterward, my friends and I hung out in the parking lot, and that's where we met RVD and I got this signed. Okay, the autograph has been somewhat smudged in the ensuing 23+ years. Hell, it was pretty darned hard for RVD to sign it in the first place. It was cold outside, and it's a tiny, awkward thing to sign. Also, he was probably blazed at the time. But it's authentic. I know, I was there!
