Griffin has had a significant impact on contemporary visual culture. The exhibition, organized by Greg Escalante and Doug Harvey surveyed 30 years of griffin's work from the 1960's until his untimely death in 1991. John took this photograph in Rick Griffin's studio. The time is around Easter Sunday 1971 in a small surf town in Southern California. Rick is holding one of his paintings during the time of his life known as his religious quest.
