His family moved from there to Chicago, IL, when he was very young. He was raised with a love for God and for music. When he was 16, a trying age for many youths, Willis became the pastor of a small church. Around 1990, he formed the Pentecostals of Chicago choir. It was the fulfillment of a dream for him. The gospel choir comprises more than a 100 members, bringing together the rich and the poor, the African-American, the Hispanic, the Caucasian, and the Asian, all with the goal and joy of sharing the gospel word through song. With Willis as director, the POC choir has performed throughout much of the United States, as well as taking its message to various other countries. Willis has also toured through many of the same territories, appearing solo, as well as with many other great gospel artists.
