Description: Up for your consideration very unique and interesting Faberge 88 silver samorodok cigarette case retailed by Cartier (London). Exceptionally high-quality work by Anders Nevalainen, Finnish born gold/silversmith, and a Fabergé workmaster. The silver case decorated with cabochon sapphire and embedded in silver small gold nuggets. Bearing Faberge silvermarks, assayer stamp for 88 silver, A. Nevalainen silversmith stamp, and “Cartier London” stamp. These marks corresponding to the end of 19th - very beginning of 20th century. There are another later British London silver marks that dated 1952. I saw that before when Soviets hallmarks were added to Imperial Russian marks when the piece was surfaced for sale. Most likely same happened with this piece: this Faberge Cigarette case was retailed by Cartier and when it again appeared for sale in 1952 it needed official British hallmarks. In other words – extremely rare and interesting item. Excellent condition especially taking in consideration age and use. Opens and closes firmly. Measuring 3 3/16” x 3 15/16” x 5/8"; Weight – 184g Please, look at the photos as they are part of the description. I only ship to confirmed PayPal addresses.
