Description: The ReSeed cartridge is the work of SukkoPera and allows a MOS 6581 or 8580 SID chip to be controlled by software on a Commodore 264-series computer (C16, Plus/4, C116, etc...). Please review the ReSeed project page below for more information. https://github.com/SukkoPera/ReSeed In addition to making a SID chip available to the computer, ReSeed also supports:A third joystick port, suitable for paddle use (when supported by software)Audio input and output jacksVolume control, including "digifix" volume for the MOS 8580This listing is for one ReSeed cartridge, assembled to only support a MOS 8580 SID chip (or compatible replacement).A MOS 6581 will not work with this cartridge without applying several modifications (see project page above for component and voltage differences)No SID chip is provided with this listingNo case is provided for the cartridge PCB, though one may be produced from CAD files on the above project pageThe cartridge had been tested to work on a Commodore 16 using both an ARMSID and MOS 8580. The test consisted of running the SizPlay software (https://plus4world.powweb.com/software/SIzPlay) to play various ripped music from C64 demos and games, including those provided with the Synergy SIDCard Software disk (https://plus4world.powweb.com/software/Synergy_Sidcard_Software). Audio output was tested using an amplified external speaker, and the default mixed TED output. The BackSID SID replacement was also confirmed to be incompatible during testing. All other SID replacement devices (e.g. SwinSID, SIDkick, etc...) were not tested and assumed to also be incompatible. IMPORTANT NOTE: the voltage regulator on the PCB is configured to output 9V, as per the voltage requirements of the MOS 8580. Please double-check this voltage before installing any SID chip or device on the board as the voltage may have changed during shipping! The ReSeed project page gives instructions on where to probe for voltage, and how to adjust the voltage regulator (boost coverter); see https://github.com/SukkoPera/ReSeed/wiki/V2-Assembly-Notes for more information.
