ALTERNATOR, HIGH AMP (100 AMP) WITH INTERNAL COOLING FAN AND IMPROVED RECTIFIER (DIODE PLATE) THAT REPLACES THE ORIGINAL FACTORY LOW AMP (60 AMP) AND FITS: 5.8L DE TOMASO PANTERA ALL MODELS 1971 - 1974 5.8L DE TOMASO PANTERA ALL MODELS 1981 - 1989 Unlike many self-exciting (one-wire) units, when properly wired up our unit WILL preserve the charge warning lamp function on your dashboard!! The unit we are offering replaces the original style externally regulated low amp (60 amp) factory unit. Please refer to the main photo to see the comparison of the 2 units. The unit on the left is the original factory style. Our improved version is on the right. The high amp replacement unit we are selling is internally regulated and uses other updated technology such as a large surface area rectifier (heavy-duty diode plate) and internal cooling fan. It is the more modern version of the original factory Ford style alternator. The improvements over the stock alternator offer increased durability, greater heat tolerance, and a heightened ability to provide more amps at low rpm (idle RPM). We include instructions, a new adjustable ear mounting bolt, single v-belt pulley, and the short conversion harness needed to electrically adapt the new internally regulated unit. The conversion is straight forward and easy to perform. The alternator includes a single v-belt pulley. We are selling this unit outright so a core exchange is not needed. This unit has been bench tested using a D&V test bench and carries a 2 YEAR WARRANTY. As with all alternators, please make sure to install this unit in a vehicle which has a fully charged and load-tested battery. Also, please check all of the electrical connections related to the alternator to verify that there are no frayed or corroded cables, poor battery terminal clamps, or any loose or corroded connections in the system. Units which have been damaged due to negligence on the part of the installer are not covered under warranty. It is the buyer's responsibility to verify that this unit fits the vehicle's application.
