Description: An incredibly rare 1926 edition of R. H. Tawney's "Religion and the Rise of Capitalism: A Historical Study (Holland Memorial Lectures 1922)." As best I can tell, this was the first U.S. edition of this book, which was also published in London in the same year. Very few examples of this 1926 Harcourt, Brace and Company edition are available online. In good vintage/antique condition with some wear, scuffs to cover, discoloration of cover and pages, evidence of past moisture exposure inside the back cover, a few pencil marks inside the book. Binding is intact though somewhat loose in sections. Note that the last couple of pages seem not to have been cut when the book was made.
