Description: Up for sale here is this recap kit for a pair of Acoustic Research AR-3 speakers (not the AR-3As). This will let you completely recap two (2) AR-3 speakers. These are brand new Supertech MPT (metallized polypropylene film) capacitors, which are super-high-quality and will sound nice and clear. There are TWO different crossover designs for the AR-3 speakers. The older version (serial number C70228 and lower) uses two capacitors per speaker, one 6 uf and one 24 uf). The later version (serial number C70229 and higher) uses three capacitors per speaker, two 6 uf and one 24 uf). This listing is set up so you can select whichever set of caps you need. It's a good idea to open up your speakers to check the crossover caps before you order. I would suggest opening both speakers, just in case one has a different crossover than the other. These are fairly easy to install as long as you know what you're doing. You will need a decent soldering iron, solder, a Philips screwdriver, wire cutters, and a hot glue gun or rubber cement to aid in mounting the caps. The new caps are a bit larger than the old caps because they are much higher quality, but they will still fit fine.
