Reborn baby boy “Sammy” 2008 Laurie Lane Kit

Description: This is a pre-fab doll kit I thought would be fun to try and reborn. The vinyl is a lot thicker than most. Rooting the hair was a real challenge. It may be why you see so many of this type of kit with wigs glued on. I’d say it’s hard vinyl like a Sydnee’s doll kit. So the hair is wavy and course looking but soft to the touch. Due to the difficulty rooting his hair is light in volume but does cover the head. The eyes came already intact. I just rooted hair, mottled skin, added veining, and added blushing. I think those little touches made it so much better. Eyebrows and eyelashes are painted as I do not like the look of rooted. Fingernails are white tipped and given a little gloss along with all areas you expect a lil moisture. This particular kit came with the body which has 1/4 limbs. That means things like shorts or tank tops do not look best because the body is visible. I did fill with a small amount of weighted beads. This kits vinyl was pretty heavy already. I added a baby powder scented wafer as well. The price is substantially cheaper because it cost a whole lot less than the standard reborn kit. He also wears size newborn and is appx 20” long and 4lbs. He comes with dinosaur onesie that can be worn with the burgundy pants I’ve included. He also has this really cute dinosaur fleece outfit as pictured. He has a pair of socks and shoes. I made a magnetic pacifier (not suitable for young children, choking hazard) He comes diapered with 1 extra. I’m sending him home with his plush dinosaur and his snuggly. He also has a bonus toy and dino bib. My reborn babies are lower than some for one main reason I’m still learning and perfecting my techniques. Occasionally paint will show up where I hadn’t intended. That usually occurs after it’s been heat set. I will point out all areas with pictures or I’ll verbally highlight. This gives you a chance to see everything up front before you commit. With hand painted babies a flaw can sometimes be very enhancing to the character of the baby. I’ve been making these babies for 4 years now. This is the 22nd baby I’ve made so I’m still learning as I go. He’s so cuddly and cute! Note: not intended for small children as the super magnets used for the pacifier pose a huge danger when swallowed. That’s in addition to a choking hazard. With a doll that has tight closed mouth it’s difficult to get strong magnetism. It adheres best when slightly reclined, am including anyway.
