Description: Overall, this is a beautiful and clean copy free of stains, writing and strange odors. Binding is tight and no missing or torn pages. This is a first edition but a later printing (printed February 1935). The book was first published in November 1934 and so it’s likely an early printing run. The book is missing its dust jacket but is in very good condition. The red clothe cover boards are vibrant and in great shape, showing minimal wear for a 90-year-old book. Edges of pages when book is shut show some discoloration and other blemishes. Pages themselves are clean and free of writing and marking. There’s a section of pages on the bottom right corner that are a bit bent but it’s barely noticeable. The book has a nameplate on the front inside cover board for R.H. Upjohn of Harvard Medical School. Public records indicate he was a medical student at Harvard in the 1930s when he acquired this book.
