Description: Raspberry PI 3 Model A+HifiBerry Digi+Custom designed and 3D printed case This was a fun project I worked on during Covid lockdown when I lived in Spain. I designed it so I'd have a nice looking and compact streamer to feed into my Rega DAC and Rega Brio-R integrated. Since moving back to the states I no longer have a DAC (stand-alone or built in), so I've replaced it with a larger design containing a HifiBerry DAC hat. This unit is tiny (about 3"x3"x2") and can be easily hidden away if desired. The last photo shows the streamer on top of a CD case for scale. Just to be clear, this setup will allow you to use the streaming software of your choice (e.g. Moode, Volumio, LMS) to stream internet radio, play music from a local server, stream from a computer/phone using Bluetooth or AirPlay, etc. The Digi+ hat outputs a digital stream via optical or coaxial cables. You would connect this device to a DAC, or to the DAC input of a receiver/preamp/integrated amp with a built in DAC. You will need to install streaming software (Moode, Volumio, LMS, etc.) onto a microSD card and configure the streamer yourself. This is all well documented online and not too hard -- just don't expect the same plug-and-play experience of a Wiim product for example.
