Description: Ok eBay.... This is a ONCE IN A LIFETIME listing! What I have here is a treasure trove of WW2 items, unearthed from an estate in the affluent hills of Los Angeles, that has never been seen before. Honestly, I believe these items should probably be in a war museum somewhere, but it is your lucky day to own something NO ONE else has! From what I gathered, this man Capt. Gysbers was a fighter pilot with the 352nd Fighter Group. Some research shows they were a group of "ACE" fighter pilots called the Blue Nosed Bastards of Bodney. From their Wikipedia page they quote: "The 352nd Fighter Group was a unit of the Eighth Air Force that was located in the European Theater of Operations during World War II. The unit served as bomber escort, counter-air patrols, and attacking ground targets. It initially flew P-47 Thunderbolt aircraft before converting to P-51 Mustang in April 1944" They seemed like pretty badass guys who flew amazing missions during WW2. I discovered a book about them in earlier belongings with personal photos in the book of things the book described. It was quickly purchased by a museum collector for a very healthy sum. That was one book and a few photos. This is an entire account of a "ace" fighter pilot captains experience in WW2. How amazing is that? Now on to the items... First off I have the uniform. It has what I believe to be the long sleeve dress shirt and leather belt. The uniform is in excellent condition as well as the belt. The condition looks like they could be purchased today in a store today. On to the treasure trunk... This thing has EVERYTHING! This truck is large, it measures approx., 2 feet long x 1 foot deep x 6"-8" tall. This man seemed to have kept everything he possibly could and kept it in fantastic condition. FULL DISCLOSURE, I have not gone through much of the paperwork except for what I took out to photograph. As you can see from the photos there are what look to be commendations, awards, certificates, pilot licenses, IDs, tags, medals, photographs, service records and so much more! There are dozens and dozens of personal correspondences talking about who knows?!? There look to be mission reports describing mission details and plans. There is so much in here I couldn't take enough pictures of everything to show how special this is. As you can see in one of the photos, there is a presidential letter (commendation?) to another family member for a later war service. It seems to be signed by the president. There are also a few other records and paperwork of another family member in war. Not sure if earlier (WW1) or later. There are hundreds and hundreds if not thousands of papers and items in this treasure chest. This seems to be a personal account of one soldiers experience in WW2. I can only imagine what he describes in the notes and correspondences. I am not personally a military collector so I am getting rid of this in the hopes it goes to someone who truly appreciates how special and rare these items are. Again, there are SO many items in this chest. It would take days if not weeks to go through each item and examine and photograph it. This is truly one for the record books ladies and gentlemen. A fantastic gift for any military lover, collector, WW2 historian or even museum. I am NOT an expert or authority on these items so please refer to the photos and make your own judgement before purchasing. Buyer assumes all responsibility for their purchase. I do not accept return and this item is sold AS-IS. Please look at the photos. I have local shops calling me day and night for this stuff. I don't want it to be resold in a store. I want it to go to a person or place that will cherish this truly remarkable find. You will never see an auction like this on eBay again. Historical items like these depicting our accounts of WW2 are frankly priceless. The photos do not do these items justice. To see and smell them in real life is truly something amazing. Get it while you can! Let me know if you have any questions.
