Note! Further down I will show you which vintage Singer Darning and Embroidery attachments work well with your Finger Guard and which do not.The darning and embroidery attachments pictured are NOT included for sale in this listing and are used as examples for compatibility only.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Here is how it's attached.Demonstrated on my Singer Featherweight 221. After removing the presser foot, slide the Finger Guard up the presser bar as high as it will go. You may have to remove the thread cutter. The guard should swing up to the left and the hex screw is on the right. Leave enough room to be able to lift and lower the presser bar. Then tighten the dinky hex screw (red arrow below) with the key. NOTE: There isn't a stop on the dinky hex screw. It can come all the way out making it easy to lose. ~~~~~~~~~~~~Your vintage hinged Finger Guard swings up to the left (green arrow below). This makes it easy to change the foot, the needle or thread the needle. When the finger guard swings down the opening on the right side clears the needle and the presser foot. Would you like to know which vintage Singer darning and embroidery attachments are compatible with the your vintage Swing Out Finger Guard? Note!If you are using the Singer Embroidery Foot made in Germany, after attaching the Finger guard, press the driving bar (the long arm) of the embroidery attachment down before swinging your vintage finger guard into place (red arrow below).
