Description: This is a scarce true Art Deco era figural powder jar by the Pheonix Glass Company of Pittsburgh. The box was designed in 1929 by Kenneth Haley, & the patent was assigned to Pheonix. Both pieces of this box are embossed PAT APPLIED FOR, & according to the book BEDROOM & BATHROOM GLASSWARE OF THE DEPRESSION YEARS by Whitmyer, GODIVA is this box's suggested pattern name. It's about 4" high. The box is diamond shaped & about 4 -7/8" x 4 -9/16". There are some nips. One SLIGHT one on a seam at the top rim of the box. One on the bottom of the box near a corner. One on the under side / side of the lid in the position of Godiva facing front. In one picture, her shoulder appears damaged BUT IS NOT. It's a rub to the frosting there, likely because it's near a mold seam. Please check the pictures. Overall this box is 99%+ condition wise in my opinion. Just a rare & lovely example of Deco figural art!
