Description: RARE ! Marvin WWI Military Trench Watch - AFS American Ambulance Field Service This auction is for a WWI Marvin Ambulance trench watch. This is a super rare watch that was part of the earliest involvement of Americans to help in the war effort.The watch is in very good condition.The watch runs and keeps time.The original porcelain dial is in good condition. It does have some small hairlines and chips at the edgeof the dial by number 11. ( see photos )The dial is marked "AMBULANCE" with the early "red ball " of the AFS American Ambulance Field Service serving with the French early in the war.The hour and minute hands are original.The second hand is a replacement vintage hand.Since radium in no longer available, the second hand was lumed with tritium, so the coloris a slight bit different.The glass crystal is excellent. The silver watch case is in good condition. There are some light dings on the back of the case.The Swiss Marvin movement is 11 jewels with 3 adjustments.The watch is 33mm wide not including the crown and 36 mm wide including the crown.The wire lugs are 11mm.This is a vintage watch and is being sold "as-is".
