It is a Maria Martinez (1887-1980) and Santana Martinez (1909-2002) - San Ildefonso Black on Black RARE WATER WAVES DESIGN This small jar has a most unique design. It appears to reflect waves. It might have been made later in the career of Maria and Santana, when Santana was becoming more adventurous with her designs. It is a special jar because of its uniqueness. SMALL JAR/BOWL 2 5/8" high and 3.75" in diameter. Signed: Marie & Santana on the base When Maria's husband Julian, passed away, she resumed her work with the aid of her son, Adam, and his wife Santana. Pieces signed this way were created between 1943 and 1954. These were signed: "Marie + Santana." It is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. Some age/handling marks around See pictures.
