He was known and revered for turning his house and inn into a refuge and conversion place for Christians and fearlessly burying the bodies of other Christian martyrs, for which he himself was martyred. He was especially revered in Russia during 15th-16th centuries and by Boris Godunov in particular. Feodot Ankirskiy icons are known to help those whose life and work are connected with inns or hotels or houses, or those helping the persecuted. Feodot is also equivalent to the name "Bogdan" so he is also known to help those that carry that name.Oil on wood. Two support splits on the back.
