Description: Up for auction is an incredible scarce newspaper publication by the name of New-Yorker Illustrirte Zeitung & Familienblätter (New York [N.Y.] for German Americans living in New York between 1859 to sometime in the mid to late 1860s. It seems as though no one is really sure when it went out of production. This auction is for a book hard-cover bound of 25 issues of this scarce publication dating from Issue #105 October 31st 1862 to issue #130 April 24th 1863 These issues are right in the thick of the Civil War and the artwork illustrations are incredible. I don't know if this publication had their own art Illustrators, or if they worked with other publications like Harper's Weekly. If not, some of these illustrations could be extremely rare and hard to find. I used grid pictures to get all the illustrations in the book. Most of the illustrations are free of tears, but there are few that have tears. I can send you pictures apon request of any illustrations you'd like to see closer, but I will add a watermark. Each page measures 15.75" X 10.5". There are a couple of illustrations that combine into one big piece of art with 2 or even 3 pages. I think there was even one that took 4 pages to put together. There is even an 2-page illustration of Tom Thumb's wedding. There is an illustration on the battle of Charleston, Detroit riots. Wonderful full illustration of the best ice skaters in New York Central Park male and female in1862. Many historicall significant battles of the Civil War between 1862 to 1863 There's just too much to list, so you'll have to see the pictures. I don't even have pictures of some of the fun New York business advertising in it. I looked online, and only 4 Library's in the United States had any copies at all of this publication. Most of them only had just a couple. Please ask me any questions before bidding. I'm starting at what I consider a very low price for a very scarce publication like this and possibly lost illustrations that haven't been seen in decades. Some Illustrations alone could be worth a couple hundred dollars each.
