Description: This is exceedingly rare underglaze transfer and unmarked (except for impressed letters see photo, not sure if it is CBBS or ?), early made by Spode. It feels like soft paste. Based on the copper plate engravings of bridge of Salaro, St. Peter's monument, Castle St. Angelo, etc. It has a 2" crack that is stable. It is one of the first from the Spode "Blue Room" collection. This rendition of Taber/ Rome, as you can see the top of the plate has a more filled design. It has a bit of the flow in the boarder. Super-size to see well. E-questions.
