Description: This beautiful antique (possibly French) Plique-à-jour pendant is made of 18K yellow gold. Plique-à-jour is French for "letting in daylight", and resembles stained glass. This technique was developed in the byzantine Empire in the 6th Century A.D. This piece is marked 750, which means 18k gold and tested as such with a Kee Gold Tester. The center of the cross features 9 faceted diamonds. A Presidium Gem tester was used to confirm that the 9 stones are in fact diamonds. Measures approximately 1.5" (1.75" including bale) by 1".
