Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Here we have a very rare and highly collectable swan dating from the 1800s. This was made in the Staffordshire district in England and may have been made as a gift or toy for children. There is a similar swan shown in Lisa McAllister’s Collector’s Guide to Yellow Ware in Book III on page 66. The swan measures 3 ½” in height and length. The white spots on the swan are reflections from the bright photographic lights. This swan was molded in two pieces and joined while the clay was still wet and has extra clay added to cover the seam on either side. This is in near mint condition with only a glaze flake on the tail feather with no other damage and looks even better in person than in the photos.
