Description: We are pleased to offer this rare 1st Edition copy of “Life of Jay Gould; How He Made His Millions” by Halstead & Beale, copyright 1892 and published by Edgewood Publishing Co. in Philadelphia. It has 24 illustrations by W. Fletcher Johnson Esq. Unfortunately, sometime in the book's long life, a child (?) decorated 3 photos on pages 87, 155, and 191 with black ink glasses, and in the case of Mrs. George Gould a mustache as well (last three photos). Despite this, the book is in overall good condition with a firm cover and spine, no tears, folded or missing pages and only slightly pushed corners. There is some expected and normal age toning on the pages and the gold has faded on some of the cover lettering. Please refer to the photos for the best look. It would be hard to find this book in much better condition. There are 490 pages and the book measures 6” x 8”Be sure to view all the photos.
