Description: Here is a very rare 1973 Omaha Royals baseball pennant that has the players (and maybe some staff) facsimile signatures stamped on it. There are 28 signatures in all. The most important name on it is George Brett, who of course went on to become a Kansas City Royals legend and a member of the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Other notable players who ended up playing for the Kansas City Royals are Frank White, Doug Bird, Tom Poquette, Mark Littell, Monty Montgomery and Buck Martinez. The pennant also has printed on it: Omaha World-Herald Carrier Day 1973. So, I'm assuming this was a one-day giveaway, probably to the city's newspaper carriers, who were probably invited to the game that day. Maybe also given to the public? There can't be many of these around. I live in Nebraska and have been collecting for over 35 years, and I've never seen one before. George Brett only played for the Omaha Royals in 1973 and 1974 before starting his Major League career with the Kansas City Royals in 1975. The Omaha Royals (later Omaha Golden Spikes and now Omaha Storm Chasers) have been the Kansas City Royals AAA minor league affiliate since the Royals came into existence in 1969. The white with blue printing and a blue left banner measures 27" long and 9" tall on the left end. Light wool cloth pennant is still in nice condition for its age. Shows light wear along the edges and the tip, even though the tip is pretty nice in my opinion. It never had any tassels on it. Stamping is nice and bold. There is some light creasing, and it could probably use a light iron, but I'm not going to try that and possibly ruin it. A little dirty on the upper edge just off the OWH logo. I plan to ship it insured Priority Mail, gently rolled up (it is flexible and floppy).
