Ralph Bingham (August 2nd 1870 - December 28th 1925) was a humorist, entertainer, monologist and violinist. He began his career at the age of 9 as an orator in Richmond, Virginia. He was known as America's "Foremost Platform Humorist" and also "The jolliest man in America." He gave about 7,000 performances during his lifetime and was a member of the Redpath Bureau for 15 years. The cause of death was stated in his obituary as "acute indigestion followed by an attack of heart disease. ******************************************************************* Joseph Cawthorn (March 29, 1868, New York City, New York – January 21, 1949, Beverly Hills, California[. He was an American stage, vaudeville and film comic actor. Cawthorn started out in show business as a child, debuting at Robinson's Music Hall in his hometown of New York in 1872. He appeared in minstrel shows and vaudeville as a "Dutch" comic, employing a thick German dialect. Cawthorn made his Broadway debut about 1895 and embarked on a long career lasting over two decades. When his Broadway stardom waned, Cawthorn moved to Hollywood in 1927. He started a second prolific career, appearing in over 50 films, the last being made in 1942. Cawthorn died peacefully on January 21, 1949. ******************************************************* Robert Cochran Hilliard (May 28, 1857 - June 6, 1927) was an American stage actor. A popular matinee idol of his day, he was nicknamed Handsome Bob. His professional debut was in the play False Shame in Brooklyn in 1886. He acted in many plays until retiring in 1918. Hillard also made frequent appearances in vaudeville between plays.
