Quimper Faience Dinnerware Pottery, 2

Description: Quimper France, French Faience, pottery dining set. 2 place settings of 4 pcs each. The pieces are octagonal in general shape, a brilliant yellow background, with reds, greens and blues to depict the countryside of Quimper, France, and the Breton men and women. In the corners are a red lattice, floral around the exterior, the man and woman in the center, with a tree and bush on either side of them. The listing contains:2 - 10" Dinner Plates, 1 each of a man and woman2 - Flat Cream Soup Bowls, 1 each of a man and woman2 - Cup & Saucers, 1 each of a man and woman. Other than one tiny flea bite on one of the saucers, this set is in perfect condition, no chips, no dings, no other flea bites, no crazing, no cracks, no repairs. All pieces share the same maker's mark, shown in a pic, and dates these pieces from 1968 -1983. The F# is a form number, the D# is a decoration number, and the initials are coded with the first letter being the studio supervisor and the second letter being the artist. Quimper is hand-painted art pottery and therefore there are individual characteristics. No two pieces are going to be exactly alike, even coming from the same studio and the same artist. The "HB Quimper", mark identifies these pieces as being from the Grande Maison, de la Hubaudière, known as the HB factory. This is not to be confused with other Quimper you may find that are marked "HR", or "Henriot". These are from a former employee of the HB factory who left to start his own factory. That is not say one or the other is superior, just that this set being offered is from the direct line of the original factory.
