Description: Here is a very nice specimen from the Huanggang mines in Inner Mongolia, China, which came out around 2010/2012. This specimen features so called Prase, or Prasem crystals, which is in effect Hedenbergite(a mineral in the Pyroxene group) included Quartz. further unusual about this specimen is that the quartz crystals display an interesting and quite weird tapered habit. Very unique habit, as much of the Prase from this locality also displays in more classically formed Quartz crystals, sometimes with partial etching.This specimen is 281 grams, or 9 7/8 oz in weight.
